John Passacantando
...dealing with global warming gives us a way to create a whole new generation of jobs to produce clean cars and homes, an entire industrial infrastructure not dependent upon our fighting wars in the MidEast.

Woody goes one on one with this longtime activist whose steely attitude, courage and commitment to confrontation sometimes pushes the limits of civil disobedience. We owe much to this man who has brought about improbable accomplishments. His hope to be credible threat in defense of the environment is reflected his paraphrase of Thoreau, "I regret only our good behavior."

a real Green Giant.....

It was a 'Clark Kent' moment when I first met John Passacantando. John's mild mannered demeanor and heartwarming personality are not what you'd expect from the guy who runs Greenpeace USA. But like Clark Kent, he is both mildmannered and the go-to-guy when Mother Earth – or her children - are in harm's way. Whether it's confronting a Head of State or encouraging his daughter to help save the polar bears, John is the environmentalist's quintessential "Man for all Seasons." Before joining Greenpeace in 2000, John worked as the Executive Director of the Florence and John Schumann Foundation campaigning for finance reform and went on to found Ozone Action to bring attention to global warming. In the following interview, John was kind enough to share some of his thoughts with VoiceYourself.
